Valentines Day Fun

The kids have the week off for Valentines Day. It wasn't specifically for Valentines Day, of course, it just happened to fall on that same week as their week off. They had their party at daycare. Well, the boys did. Isabella has a cough so she decided to run errands with me so she wouldn't cough on all the kids & helped me out with some stuff to prepare for some fun after daycare & relax. First, we made some Valentine S'mores Trail Mix as a gift for the nannies at daycare & for the kids for snack.

I didn't have any bags to put them in like they did so I took baggies and cut the top off & took some brown twine I had & punched a hole in the tag & tied them up! I used a clothes pin to hold them down so I could tie them up.

Then, I decided last minute as usual to decorate a bag to put them in! I found these Owl Always Love You Valentine Bags on Pinterest that Isabella put together! I just thought they were too adorable not to do, plus one of the nannies likes owls, as do we. I cut out the shapes so that all she had to do was glue them where she wanted them.

Once we were done I found some red sparkly tissue paper that I have from Christmas to put the trail mix in & place in the owl bags.

Once we were finished with these we set them aside & I started to cut out shapes & stuff for our projects to do after daycare. The projects I found are all on my Pinterest on my To Do Today board. I did a quick project for the hubby that I will post later so he doesn't see. I also had Isabella do a card for my mom that I won't post so she won't see it. I made sure to have everything all ready to go so when they got back they could choose what to do.

The first thing we did off the board was the Valentines Day Heart Craft. I did not go onto any of these pages to follow instructions. We just went off the photos pinned to Pinterest. I'm pretty artsy so depending on the project I can go off a photo easily.

After we made our heart crafts the boys made Valentine Dinosaurs & Isabella made a card for grandma.

Last, we made a Valentines Day Heart Tree Craft! I had a jar full of hearts cut out so that all they had to do was grab them & glue them on!

After that I let them open their Valentine bags with their snack, heart with chocolates & their small Valentine plush.

They snacked on their stuff while doing some pages I printed out for some extra fun if they were up for it & because they're not in school this week I thought some Valentine math would be a good alternative. I printed Valentine Ten Frames along with the twenty frames. I also printed Valentines Day I Spy Game for something fun to do that was also math.
Once they were finished up with all that we made some Chocolate Covered Strawberries! They helped me choose how to decorate them. After that we sat down to relax & play some video games & such after our long day! Tonight we have a Clone Wars Star Wars movie to watch & I have the Twilight series to watch (after The Bachelor of course) from the library for me! :) We LOVE the library!

This was my first time making chocolate covered strawberries & luckily I happen to have everything I needed to make them last minute! We are super excited to try them! They look amazing, despite not being perfect, haha! We aren't too picky.

I hope everyone had a fun & wonderful Valentines Day like we did! Despite hubby not being home this year for our dinner date, the kids & I had a great time spending it together & will enjoy getting to see him when he's home again & give him the stuff we made him. :) There's always another day for everything. We don't get too upset having to move days. We try to enjoy them when we can. We are just grateful to have the time together when we can.
February 16 - Update - Hubby is on his way home so I figured it's safe to post the things we made him!

I quickly cut out the pieces for this card and then glued them together once I got the placement how I wanted it. :) Then, since we had time, today actually, we made him a Valentines Day Flower Handprint Card!
